North American Packaging Design

Margherita s.r.l, the “world’s largest pizzeria”, was looking introduce their special Italian frozen pizza to the crowded US market in a way that breaks through at shelf and showcases the product’s differentiating and premium qualities.

We focused on the two main differentiating factors that separatethese products from the rest: Hand-stretched dough by Master Italian Pizzaioli, and specialty ingredients sourced from various regions in Italy. To visually communicate these qualities in a unique way, the Master Pizzaioli were photographed to play a starring role front-of-pack, and the flavor names themselves were left in their native Italian language, adding an authentic flair and sophistication. Food photography presents itself as “what you see is what you get”, showcasing the crust and toppings without depending on ubiquitous propping or forced appetite appeal.
